Referrals to Enso Art Therapy
Enso Art Therapy provides individual art therapy for children, adolescents and adults from a private studio in Glen Huntly, Melbourne. With approximately ten years of experience, including work with autistic children and young people, at-risk youth, and school-based programs, I welcome referrals and collaborative relationships with health, allied-health, education and community professionals.
When art therapy may be considered
Art therapy may be one option to consider for a client who:
- finds direct verbal communication difficult
- engages naturally through sensory or creative experiences
- experiences anxiety or emotional dysregulation
- is neurodivergent
- is navigating social or school-related difficulties
- has experienced change, grief or trauma
- may benefit from another therapeutic modality alongside existing supports
Art therapy is not suitable for every client or presentation, and suitability is considered individually.
The therapeutic approach
My Open Studio-informed approach combines meaningful choice in creative materials with an active therapeutic relationship. Sessions can move between art-making, observation, conversation and reflection. Artwork is not decoded or interpreted through predetermined meanings.
Working collaboratively
With appropriate consent, I am happy to communicate with referring and treating professionals when this supports coordinated care.
This can include collaboration with:
- developmental paediatricians
- paediatricians
- psychologists
- psychiatrists
- occupational therapists
- speech pathologists
- assessment clinicians
- schools and wellbeing teams
- NDIS support professionals
- GPs
- other allied-health professionals
NDIS
Enso Art Therapy is not an NDIS Registered Provider. Sessions can be accessed by self-managed and plan-managed participants, commonly under Capacity Building, Improved Daily Living, where art therapy is consistent with the participant's plan and goals. See the NDIS page for details.
