Art Therapy for Teens
A space that is theirs, with no pressure to talk.
Teenagers do not need to arrive ready to talk. Creative work can offer another starting point. In the studio, teens can work with paint, clay or collage at their own pace, and sessions may move naturally between making, talking, silence and reflection.
No previous art experience is required, and nothing made in the studio is graded or judged.
Why art therapy suits teens
Making art side by side feels less confronting than face-to-face talking
They choose the materials and the topics, which builds trust and autonomy
The process may offer another way to explore stress, low mood and how they see themselves
No art skills needed, and nothing they make is graded or judged
Privacy and trust
Parent or guardian consent is required for anyone under 18
What happens in sessions stays private, balanced with safety and agreed family communication
