Meet Roni, Lead Art Therapist
About Roni
I'm Roni Fireberger Kisos, an art therapist with around ten years of experience working with children, adolescents and adults. I hold an MA in Art Therapy and am an ANZACATA-registered Art Therapist (AThR).
My experience includes working with children and young people in school and therapeutic settings, including autistic children, young people at risk, and those navigating emotional, social and developmental challenges. My approach is creative, relational and responsive to each person's individual needs.
I offer art therapy in English and Hebrew from my studio in Glen Huntly, near Caulfield, as well as online across Australia.

My Therapeutic Approach
My work integrates what is communicated through words with what is communicated through art-making. Sometimes conversation leads the session, at other times materials, colour or image-making carry what is harder to say directly.
The work is person-centred and paced to each individual, rather than following a fixed activity or expected outcome. Artwork is not interpreted from the outside, we stay curious about the process together.
My practice is influenced by Open Studio principles, where the act of creating itself supports reflection and emotional processing. Read more about my approach.

Why Ensō as a name and logo?
Ensō (円相) is a Japanese word meaning circle. It symbolises wholeness, balance, and the beauty of imperfection. In Zen practice, the Ensō is drawn in a single, expressive brushstroke, sometimes closed to represent completeness, and sometimes open to reflect movement, growth, and acceptance of change.
Alongside the circle, the logo also features a lotus flower. The lotus has deep spiritual symbolism across cultures: it rises from the mud to bloom in purity and strength, representing resilience, renewal, and the unfolding of potential.
Together, the Ensō and the lotus embody the essence of art therapy as we see it: embracing authenticity, transformation, and the possibility of growth in every moment.
